tears-to-tiara-21-dThe 21st episode of my favorite current running series “Tears to Tiara” entitled “the Song of Origin” picked up where ep 20 left off. With Myrddin committing the high crime of teaching the humans the forbidden technique of fire, and ultimately sacrificing himself for humankind, the white spirits are down to 11. They ask Lucifer (Arawn) to become the 12th spirit, and he happily agrees. However, shortly after becoming a white spirit he finally begins to understand Myrddins words and his actions.

On a trip to Earth Lucifer finds that spring has finally come to earth, and the icey lands are no more. He goes back to the cave and finds the girl who was the sole survivor of the ice spell, and whom Myrddin taught the technique of fire to. He doesn’t understand why she is still inside, and brings her out to enjoy the spring and sunshine. However, she is completely brain washed and the only thing that comes out of her mouth is empty worship and praise for the gods. She no longer has any mind of her own, and cannot even enjoy the simple things like flowers and the sunshine.

tears-to-tiara-21-cThis enrages Lucifer, and he immediately returns to the kingdom and summons the other 11 spirits. He announces that he can no longer follow their path, and tells them he is leaving to continue Myrddins way on earth. They threaten him with a curse if he leaves, and he declares war on the white spirits. He returns to earth and breaks the spell that has the little girl brainwashed, however his own curse turns him from a white spirit into a more fragile being … a human perhaps?

This pretty much wraps up Arawn’s past, and Taliesin leaves the cave to rejoin his allies. Along the way he see’s the massive enemy army born from the cauldron of resurrection .. and by massive I mean like lord of the rings 3 MASSIVE. He rejoins Aurthur and friends, and the group of warrior giants who are pounding massive stakes into the ground to create the avalanche. Arawn and the gang do their best to defend while the Giants hammer away, and at last the cracks start and the ground beneath them starts to crumble away. However, a huge snow storm sweeps the valley and prevents the avalanche from fully launching.

tears-to-tiara-21-bTaliesin understands that he cannot escape his fate, and even though he is scared he sucks it up and begins singing the song of origin (after having a nice chat with Arawn). Taliesin’s song of origin brings spring to the valley and the Avalanche completely takes out the entire enemy army. The episode ends with Arthur pounding the ground at Taliesin’s death, and stating that he needs more knowledge to better understand the world.

Great episode, and looking forward to the last couple episodes of this great series!

    Rating: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆

Great episode but it would have been nice to see more of a battle against the “black army”

True, I want to see those warrior giants get at it .. last battle should be pretty epic. Wonder if Taliesin is hiding out somewhere or if he really went down with the Avalanche? …. was hoping he’d be able to escape his “fate”
