The Eureka Movie begins quite suddenly with Eureka and Renton meeting each other after what seems like a long time. Renton is trying to get Eureka out of a dark cave, but Eureka refuses to leave. She tells Renton to leave without her – as she doesn’t want him to die with her. Renton refuses to leave her by herself, and Eureka being to glow an ominous green. The Geeko then intercepts the waves of energy coming from Eureka, and it is said to be the “ecstasy phenomenon”.
After about three minutes of opening credits, it cuts to a flashback of Renton and Eureka as kids, as they are following around their teacher named Dominic (fans from the original series will be happy to see his inclusion). Nirvash is with them, in a small, unusual animal form called a “fairy” (Which is quite similar to the “sky fish” of the original series.)
It is then revealed that Renton can understand everything Nirvash says, and Dominic says this is because he is the “chosen one’ (very original: P). Dominic then explains about the “image” an alien life force that is slowly destroying humanity. He then shows the young Renton and Eureka a flower, which he calls the “Luna-Crystal” flower. Dominic tells the children that if stardust is sprinkled on the flower, it will produce a light in which any wish can be granted.
Suddenly the flower blooms, creating a beam of light, but it quickly withers and dies. Dominic is upset by this occurrence – and gives Eureka and Renton the seeds from the flower and request that they protect this hill throughout their lives. Dominic then says that he is leaving to help with some experiments. It is revealed that Dominic left the next day without saying goodbye – and died mysteriously a week later. Renton is told that he died in an experiment conducted by his father to fight the invading “image”.
The army are depicted storming a building called “Warszawa Laboratory”. A slightly older Renton and Eureka are cowering inside with Nirvash. The army then storm the room, and seize Eureka. Renton and the fairy – form Nirvash attack the invaders – but to no avail. Eureka is placed in the sunlight, and her body begins to burn and disintegrate. Renton and Nirvash sit there helplessly watching Eureka go.
8 Years Later
A ship called the Geeko is trying to get back the “Highly Classified Subject”. Renton and Nirvash then appear, and Nirvash has grown into a large KLF (your usual Mecha fighting machine). A history of the “image” is then given, depicting the “image” attacking the earth in April 2009. Forty – five years later, the human race killed the “image” with a machine called the “hammer of god”, killing everybody on earth except a selected 20,000 people who were sent into space. It is shown that an old women (Anemone from the original Eureka Seven) is writing a book on the history of the Earth.
The scene then depicts a large orb (the “image”) attacking a town, whilst Renton in Nirvash (normal form) are saving a Young women and her child from unusual monsters from the “image”. Holland tells Renton that their mission is not to save lives, but rather to capture the subject. Renton hesitates but then begins to leave, however Nirvash freezes on the spot – saying repeatedly that he “found it!”
Renton is confused and Nirvash then takes control of the ship, and crashes into a dark cavern, where Eureka is standing. The scene is then that of the beginning of the movie, depicting Renton and Eureka meeting each other after a long while. Renton tries to convince Eureka to come back to the Geeko, but she refuses. She begins to glow, and a large wave of light begins radiating from her. All the armies begin to retreat, as Eureka is stopping the “image” by herself. The crew of the Geeko begin to worry, as the life signals of Renton, Nirvash and Eureka disappear.
Eureka is standing on a cliff overlooking the area, while Renton is sitting in Nirvash. Eureka tells Renton that he should of left, and that she doesn’t need him here. Renton then tells her he will never leave her side- and protect her “No matter what”. The cliff holding Eureka breaks, and she starts to fall.
Renton pauses for a second, remembering how he and Nirvash watched her get kidnapped by the army. He then jumps straight into action and speeds off to save her. Eureka is falling through the sky, being subjected to the sun – and her body begins to burn. However, Renton soon catches her and places her in the ship – away from the suns rays. Renton holds Eureka while regaining control of Nirvash. Another huge wave of light omits from Nirvash, and Nirvash instantly becomes stronger.
Nirvash then goes on a rampage, killing every “image” monster in his sights. After being attacked by Nirvash, the monsters turn to clouds. Nirvash then tells Renton its “payback time” and attacks the heart of the “image”. Destroying this creates a large cloud – and it is revealed it also creates stardust.
Holland meets up with Nirvash and Renton, and congratulates him. He then reveals to Renton that Eureka is the “highly classified subject” they have been fighting for all along. Holland talks to his crewmates (minus Renton and Eureka) telling them that the presence of the stardust has lead them “one step closer to there dream”.
The scene cuts to a council of people meeting, with the main subject being the assassination of a general called Dewey. They believe the Culprit to be a low-ranking officer named Holland Novak. A woman known as Lady Coda, leave the meeting, trying to find Holland.
Eureka is placed in a hospital bed in the Geeko, and Renton visits her asking her to return to Warszawa, their hometown to protect the hill there Teacher (Dominic) told them to protect so many years ago. Eureka refuses, revealing to Renton that she is not human, rather an “image” in a humanoid form – sent to spy on the human species. She then tells Renton about the horrors she experienced whilst being experimented on, and that the scientists told her it won’t be long before her body deteriorates. She tells Renton that when the red line leaves her eye, she will die in a few moments.
Meanwhile, Lady Coda finds out the Dewey had an obsession with young children, and that he created an orphanage for the war orphans. She begins hunting down Holland and the Geeko, but then receives a phone call stating that the “subject” (Eureka) has disappeared.
It is then shown that a drug known as “Datura” was found at the crime scene – the drug causes the body to stop ageing, but must be used once a week. An army official, who says that they have found the corpse of Holland Novak, interrupts her.
Holland tells the crewmembers (minus Renton and Eureka) of the ship to inject themselves with the Datura. The army suddenly attacks them and all the KLF’s (mecha ships created to fight the “image) are deployed. Renton then jumps into the Nirvash, and they leave the Geeko to attack the invaders. Renton is shocked to find the people who are attacking them are the army, and he begs Holland to stop fighting them – as they are all human. Holland ignores him and turns off Nirvash’s power supply.
Lady Coda reveals the corpse believed to be Holland was a fake, and that they escaped in the clouds created by the battles between Nirvash and the “image”. Coda then reveals that the Geeko members are survivors from the “Agony of Doha”, an experiment gone horribly wrong. Renton is the only member of the ship who had no part in the “Agony of Doha”, although his parents died in it. Lady Coda believes him to be at the centre of the Geeko ship rebelling against the army.
Renton is tied up by the members of the Geeko ship and he is told that they were all part of an experiment called the “Agony of Doha” and that whilst they look varying ages – all of them are but seventeen. Meanwhile Lady Coda discovers how they invented the KLF and weapons for fighting the “image”, by extracting information from the seven humanoid “image” life forms.
The “Agony Of Doha” is shown to be the experiment that Dominic went on before he died, and all members of the Geeko state participated. Although most survived the ordeal (although having aged bodies), Renton’s Parents and Dominic disappeared. However, whilst the Geeko state members lived, their bodies are deteriorating three times faster then the average human being, which is why they have all been using the drug “Datura”.
Renton is then begged by Holland to join in their revolt against the army, but Renton sternly refuses and is placed captive by the Geeko. They are once again discovered and attacked by the army. Renton is freed by Eureka, who found out that Holland was willing to brain wash him if he refused to co-operate with the Geeko.
Renton tells Eureka to escape with him, but she declines, saying that she must die on the ship so that the “image” won’t be able to gather her memories and use it against the human race. Holland is unable to attack in his KLF as his Bridge commander (and lover) collapses. Renton and Eureka then burst onto the scene in Nirvash, and begin destroying the enemies.
After killing all the attackers, Renton asks the crew why they need Renton and Eureka to help them. Holland tells them that they plan to recreate the “Agony of Doha” so that the world can become “Neverland” (A world where everyone is immortal). However, to recreate the experiment successfully, they need Eureka and Renton, as they are the “Chosen Ones”. Renton decides that they must join the Geeko, otherwise Eureka body will deteriorate and she will die.
Meanwhile, all over the world, KLFs are being destroyed by themselves. The Council starts to panic, as without the KLF’s the humans are defenceless against the “image”. However, they still refuse to use the “Hammer Of God” until absolutely necessary.
Hal and Stoner (two of the Geeko’s crewmates) begin to doubt that Renton and Eureka are infact the “chosen ones” because Nirvash has superior fighting abilities, and the legend says that the chosen ones will win without fighting.
The Army becomes concerned when they discover the Geeko’s plans to use Eureka and Renton to recreate the “Agony of Doha” and therefore “Neverland”. Furthermore, it is discovered that the Geeko will get the energy to create the experiment from the “Hammer Of God”. This Creates a bind for the army, as if they don’t use the “Hammer Of God” the world will be destroyed by the “image”, however, if they use it, Holland and his crew shall use it to recreate the “Agony Of Doha”.
Eureka is on the Geeko when she suddenly glows, and the KLFs begin to break apart. Eureka runs down to the hanger to help Nirvash, who is going on a rampage around the hangar. Whilst in the hangar, she is attacked by Stoner and Hal who is armed. They start interrogating her and asking her if she is a fake, but Renton sees them attacking her and protects her. He tackles Hal to the ground, but Hal pulls a gun and shoots Renton in the chest. Nirvash retaliates and kill Hal and Stoner, and then turns back into his fairy form.
With all the KLFs destroyed, the army decides the situation is too dire, and decides to use the “Hammer Of God”. Renton is in critical condition on the Geeko, and Eureka begins to fear the worst.
The old woman who was shown earlier writing the earths history is found by the Geeko with a black fairy, and is revealed to be Dominic’s Fiancé – Anemone, and is an “image” spy the same as Eureka. Eureka then grabs a gun and holds Anemone hostage, demanding that Renton be taken to a hospital for proper medical attention. Suddenly, a giant red hand appears and goes to attack, but anemone turns into a ball of light.
Anemone then tells Eureka that they are created by the dreams of humans; the “image” then collects these memories and reconstructs them into a humanoid form. This is why Dominic stopped all experiments on dreams, fearing that it would destroy his love, Anemone.
Meanwhile Renton, still recovering in the Geeko, meets his teacher (Dominic). Renton asks how he should save the world, and Dominic tells him the answer is not in his mind, but in his heart.
As the Giant Hand continues its attack on Eureka, Anemone and the crew of the Geeko, a new type of Nirvash blasts out of the ship and attacks it head-on, destroying it. Renton is shown to have been controlling it, and invites Eureka onto the Nirvash. The Army then deploy the “Hammer Of God”, and the countdown begins (oddly 1246 seconds).
Holland then attacks Renton, as Renton decides not to help Holland with his mission to create “Neverland” but to follow his own heart. Renton’s wound opens after a merciless attack from Holland, and he begins to bleed profusely. Nirvash feels Renton’s pain and finds new energy to attack Holland with.
Holland stops attacking the Nirvash, when he discovers that his lover, Talho, is infact pregnant with their child. It is revealed that while both the parents are ageing at a dangerous rate, the baby will be born a normal human.
Eureka Tells Renton and Nirvash that she is willing to give her life so that the human race, and therefore Renton, can live. She then instructs Nirvash to fly her to the “image” concentration, just as the “Hammer Of God” hits.
Lady Coda is then shown with a young Anemone, as they watch what happens to the world. The world seems to survive, and Anemone then disappears, leaving only a book behind with blank pages. Lady Coda believes she must now write what happened to the world, so that they don’t repeat the mistakes in the future.
Renton and Eureka find themselves in a strange place, and Renton’s wound is fully healed. Nirvash is then turns into a giant fairy, and tells them that they are in Warszawa, which is infact the “Neverland” they where searching for all along. Nirvash then tells Renton and Eureka that he must not leave, and disappears. The Movie ends with Eureka and Renton holding each other, watching a rainbow and a ship, which looks remarkably like the Geeko is seen in the Distance.
Personally I found the movie quite hard to keep up with, and i’m an avid fan of the original series. However, having said that, if you just keep your mind open and don’t mind a few loose ends, its a very entertaining movie. My Recommendation – Just Sit back and enjoy the ride!

I don’t agree with you that the movie was entertaining, but that’s just because I was expecting something that would sequal or prequal the serie and not another paralel universe. I’m really disappointed in the movie, but I can understand that if you wouldn’t like the series as much as I did, you wouldn’t be as disappointed and more prepared to give it a chance.
Having said this I still feel a little betrayed by the makers of this movie since they dindn’t meet up with the expectations of not only me but a lot of fans of the series (I’ve read a lot of angry/frustated/disappointed reviews). Hopefully there’ll still come a sequal that fans will find satisfying…

“Pocket Full of Rainbows” is the same thing as “Good Night Sleep Tight Young Lovers”. They are just alternate titles.
