The 8th episode of the Canaan series entitled “Request” puts another hold on the action and gets back to the story (which is more confusing then ever).
Somehow, Canaan has lost her Synesthesia ability and can no longer see people’s feelings as colors. She feel’s blind with out it, and feels she can no longer protect Maria.
It’s unknown exactly what Alphard and the snakes are up to at this point, but it seems as if they have some sort of cooperation ties with the president of the US.

Road Trip!
Mino has been in contact with Kenji, Maria’s dad and has come up with a hypothesis that the survivors from the UA Virus village must be getting medicine from the snakes to survive.
He goes to talk with the cosplay/kareoke/strip club owner and although he is definitely involved, it doesn’t really tell us how (grrrrrr) except for that he is the one who “erased” the village.
Mino, bar owner, cat lady, Canaan and Maria all go to the remains of the village that disappeared to look for clues. I’m not even sure why bar owner and cat lady are cooperating with the Mino and the gang … it’s really not explaining a whole lot.
We also learn that Hakko (green haired cat girl) killed her own son by accident with her deadly voice ability after she was tested on with the UA virus. She also has a deep hatred for Canaan (the reason is also unknown), and she tried to strangle Canaan in her sleep. She obviously fails but tells Canaan “it’s all your fault”.
The confusing episode finally ends with a confusing ending as they drive by a girl on a bike selling meat buns way out in the desert where they are exploring. That girl is good old Yun-Yun. Not sure what she’s doing way out there selling meat buns, but hopefully next weeks episode will fill some of the many blanks.

I agree this episode was confusing as heck, but the girl-on-girl relationships make it all better lol.
